Our Practice
We are a companion animal practice providing veterinary care for dogs, cats, bunnies, and other pocket pets.
- Wellness and Preventive Health Care - Preventive health care is about much more than vaccinations. Pets need frequent wellness checkups at least twice a year. Pets age five to seven times faster than humans. Even pets that appear normal may have underlying health problems that may only be detected with an examination by a veterinarian.
- Surgical Services - Our practice offers routine surgical services such as castrations, spays, tumor/cyst removals, dental prophylaxis and dental polishing. All of our patients are placed on an intravenous catheter and fluids to support liver, kidneys, blood pressure, and to help combat dehydration. Surgical patients are monitored with state of the art equipment during their procedure. Skilled veterinary technicians also monitor and oversee animal recovery .In addition to these practices our hospital utilizes Sevoflurane gas anesthetic which is one of the safest anesthetic gases available in veterinary medicine.
- On Site Laboratory - Our hospital has the ability to run diagnostic blood work for your pet while you wait for results. With our laboratory machines we have the capability to run blood chemistries, complete blood counts and electrolytes. The results are ready in minutes, which is a great asset when your pet is ill. These tests are especially important to perform prior to all surgical procedures, because if a problem is detected before surgery we can adjust the protocol used to ensure the safety of your pet.
- Radiology - X-rays can assist in detecting abnormalities of the skeletal system, heart, lungs and other internal organs.
- Medicated Bathing - Pets that suffer from severe skin infections or allergies can benefit from frequent medicated baths. Our hospital offers this bathing service to our patients.
- Pharmacy - We carry a large selection of veterinary medications for your pet. Our hospital can save you a trip to an outside pharmacy, and providing this service also allows us to keep track of your pet’s medications as part of the medical record. We also offer an online store that enables us to send your pet’s medications directly to your home.
- Prescription Diets - Some of our patients require a special diet to meet their nutritional needs. Dietary management for pets that have medical problems ensures a proper balance of nutrients and supplements to control some health problems.
- Hospitalization - Your pet’s wellness is of great importance to us. Our hospital offers hospitalization to sick animals when it is medically necessary. We can properly monitor the animal’s medical status and administer any medications needed to help him or her feel better.
- Parasite Control - A microscopic examination performed by our outside laboratory helps detect intestinal parasites. Pets can easily have parasites of the intestinal tract and not show any symptoms. Some of these parasites can be transmitted and infect you and your family. It is very important to have your pet’s stool checked at least twice a year.
- Dental Prophylaxis and Dental Programs - Pet dental care is one of the most neglected health care areas. Many pets require a dental cleaning and polishing to remove tartar and bacteria that has accumulated in the mouth. This procedure coupled with a dental care program at home, can add significant longevity and happiness to your pet’s life.
- Home Again Chip Insertion - This simple injection can easily protect your pets if they ever become lost. A Home Again Chip is the professional way to permanently identify your pet. The tiny microchip is proven safe and effective. This microchip contains a one-of-a-kind identification number especially for your pet. If your pet ever becomes lost, the skin will be scanned and the microchip number will be linked back to you.
- Heartworm, Flea and Tick Prevention Programs - Your pet may be at risk for heartworms, which can cause a potentially deadly infection of the heart and lungs. Fleas can reproduce year round in your home and on your pet. Ticks are more than just a nuisance. They can transmit serious diseases to you or your pet. It is very important that all animals in your home be on a year round flea, tick and heartworm prevention program.
